A SHY lizard and a threatened snake have brought plans for Australia’s largest mine to a halt. How can this be allowed to happen!  As if it wasn’t bad enough that during the Rudd/Gillard/Rudd government, when Greens collected for their preferences and cost the country billions, we are still hamstrung by their insidious Green tape. Australia is currently a terrible place to do business and the dominant noise in the background is investors withdrawing their capital. Along with their capital goes thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in taxes and royalties all because of a skink and snake that are so far down the food chain, that they are lower than Greenies. Until the government gets control of Green tape investment will be minimal and we will all suffer Queensland Resources Council chief executive Michael Roche comments;

If the Federal Court can make a decision based on Green submissions that attempts to destroy the nations economy then the law needs to be changed. In today’s Australian even the ALP, who do all they can to stymie development, says the ALP would support a change to the regulations.

Yep, that’s what it says – $85 billion! I am furious that organizations within Australia are doing their level best to totally stuff the economy. With the hype of Climate Change being accepted as real by the media and the ABC/SBS/ALP left wing cartells, people actually believe that we have an urgent problem. We don’t.  We just need to support R & D on renewables and sometime in the future, they will become viable.  Until then we need to act to protect our way of life. Laws must be enacted to stop this insidious attack on our country.  Radical Green groups need to have their tax free status removed and the public told exactly how dangerous they are. It’s not even as if the skink would be destroyed. The problem is that amongst the hundreds of submissions on impacts on species in the area the skink and snake were not specifically addressed. It is more than probable that the actions taken to address other species would also protect these two. What is currently occurring is that an extensive survey is done and the mining company addresses every species found in the survey. Once the work is completed it is made public and submitted to the authorities. The green groups then do an even greater survey until they find one or two species not mentioned in the EIS. If approval is given it all goes to court and the cycle repeats. So far it seems Adani has spent a billion dollars to fight a group hell bent on destroying industry in Australia. There has to be a line drawn at some point.
Tony Abbott, you have a big job ahead of you but you need to stop this rot.

Pope confirms AGW is faith system

Washington: A draft of an environmental encyclical by Pope Francis says “the bulk of global warming” is caused by human activity. He calls on people – especially the world’s rich – to take steps to mitigate the damage by reducing consumption and reliance on fossil fuels.
Pope Benedict proposed we should recognise that the natural environment is full of wounds produced by our irresponsible behaviour. In words likely to anger some of his conservative critics, the Pope backs the science of climate change, saying “plenty of scientific studies point out that the last decades of global warming have been mostly caused by the great concentration of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxide and others) especially generated by human action”.
It’s not often the case but the Pope and I are in lockstep. His encyclical confirms what I have always believed, that belief in AGW is a faith system, a religion. I have long referred to the more extreme followers of AGW as members of The Church of the Latter Day Alarmists. Damn. I got it right again.

Money for old rope

The Olkola people are scattered across the country but Aboriginal elder Michael Ross wants them to come back home. The cattleman is confident more of his people, a clan of about 500, will begin making that journey after the Olkola Aboriginal Corporation won a seven-year contract in the federal government’s first emissions reduction auction last month. The corporation, which Mr Ross heads, plans to capture 65,000 tonnes of carbon each year through early burning — a ­method used by the elder’s family for generations — to reduce wildfires across its 766,272ha of land in central Cape York “It’s not all about getting handouts. We have to make this land support the Olkola people for the journey home and put something back on to our country. It’s a great hurdle we’ve overcome.” And the bottom line is:
The corporation could not disclose how much the government would pay it but under the average auction price of $13.95 per tonne it would receive $906,750 a year.
Who makes this stuff up? Could someone explain to me how back burning bush to prevent dry season bushfires helps the ecology. I understand that small wet season fires could produce less ash and smoke than dry season events but seriously, paying someone nearly a million dollars to do it doesn’t seem like money well spent to me. It seems like money for old rope to use an old saying

Queensland not happy

THE Queensland government, as host of last weekend’s G20 ­summit, is incensed over what it sees as an ill-informed, insulting speech from Barack Obama about climate change, the Great Barrier Reef and coal. I don’t blame them, I was incensed as well that Obama turned an economic forum into a meeting of the Church of the Later Day Alarmists.
Mr Obama said on Saturday that climate change “here in ­Australia” means “longer droughts, more wildfires” and “the incredible natural glory of the Great Barrier Reef is threatened”.
Where on earth did he drag that from?
“I have not had a chance to go to the Great Barrier Reef and I want to come back, and I want my daughters to be able to come back, and I want them to be able to bring their daughters or sons to visit,” the President said.
Your kids and their kids and their kids ad infinitum will be able to visit the reef…it’ll still be here.  Cyclones and Crown of Thorns star fish are the biggest threat to the reef and it has recovered from everything thrown at it so far.

UN takes each way bet

THE United Nations says the NSW bushfire crisis is “absolutely” linked to climate change and Tony Abbott’s Direct Action policy is dangerous. UN climate chief Christiana Figueres has told CNN the Abbott government will pay a heavy political and economic price for walking away from Labor’s commitments on climate change. She said;

There was “absolutely” a link between climate change and the fire crisis playing out in NSW.

and then she said;

“The World Meteorological Organisation has not established the direct link between this wildfire and climate change – yet.”

Right…everyone clear on that?

Flannery isn’t going gracefully

Tim Flannery gets sacked from his $180,000 per year scam for only working three days a week but that’s OK  -he set up a website seeking finances from useful idiots some time ago and now he aleady has $35,000 in donations. His new Australian Climate Council is being touted by the ALP media arm, the ABC, as a legitimate body like it was just a continuation of the ALP’s propaganda unit the Climate Commission. It isn’t. I don’t care what he does so long as the country aren’t paying him any money but I’d like to think he just contains his pulpit sermons to those who believe – for eample if he just sent out email newletters to those who sent him money then that would be a plus. Although the rate of donations seems impressive, he needs a hell of lot more to pay for the damage to the country.  I hold him partly responsible for the spate of Desalination plants built around the country in a overreaction to his constant carping that the rains will never come again due to Climate CHange. Billions spent, all sitting idle and costing millions in maintenance. You owe us big-time boy so get selling.

Carbon Tax costs Virgin and Rex $30 million

Virgin Australia (VAH) has felt the cost of the carbon tax, announcing a net profit after tax of $23 million, down $28.8 million on the same period last year. The company estimates the impact of the carbon tax at $24.4 million. But not to worry says Combet, the business is still profitable;

AUSTRALIA’S aviation industry is profitable and will continue to grow despite Virgin Australia’s complaints about the carbon tax, federal Climate Change Minister Greg Combet says.

Virgin on Tuesday announced a drop in interim net profit and its chief John Borghetti said a competitive market meant the $24.4 million cost of the carbon tax could not be passed on to passengers.

Combet says just pass it on to consumers but Virgin  say intensifying competition in Australia’s domestic travel market drove down ticket prices and stopped it from passing on the carbon tax to customers. Rex Aviation has felt the cost of the carbon tax as well, announcing a 36% drop in profits and they lay the blame squarely on the Gillard government’s carbon tax. I wonder how many years it will take and how many billions of dollars will be lost  before the ALP accept the carbon tax is poisonous.

Newman drops Feed-in-Tariff

The Greens are going to hate this. Newman has changed the generous incentives for installing solar panels and returning power to the electricity grid. New installations will receive a feed-back tariff of 8c down from 44c a kW/h. I’ve been warning all and sundry that this had to happen as it was simply unsustainable both economically and socially. Somebody has to pay the .44c and it falls on those who can’t afford to fill their roofs with solar panels – the poor and the battling Mum and Dad pensioners. Power companies have to balance their books and buying for .44c and selling for .22 ain’t going to cut it. However, all is not lost;
Mr McArdle said households that lodged an Inverter Energy System connection application by midnight on July 9 would still be eligible for the 44 cents per kW/h tariff.
Feed in Tariffs involve a subsidy, incurring costs that need to be recovered from higher electricity prices or the state budget. The NSW government, in their plan to rid the taxpayer of ALP/Earthian Green economic nightmare, tasked IPART with sorting out the problem and making recommendations to the government, They were :
…. asked IPART to recommend a ‘fair and reasonable’ value for a feed-in tariff for customers who export electricity to the grid but are not eligible for the Solar Bonus Scheme, and a mechanism to implement this value in NSW. However, it stipulated that our recommendations:  should not result in an increase in electricity prices in NSW, and  should not require funding from the NSW Government budget. In other words, any future feed-in tariff for these customers must be subsidy-free.
That is obviously where Newman is coming from as his new installation tariff of .8c a kW/h is similar to the IPART recommendation of 5.2 to 10.3 c/kWh. You can download the IPART report here For all the non-thinkers and Green Earthians railing at Newman for “the broken promise” they need to realize a couple of hard truths. 1. You should be yelling at Bligh, not Newman. She has left the state in such a parlous situation that hard decisions have to be made. By the 2015/16 financial year, almost 10 per cent, or $5.3 billion, of state revenue will be spent paying interest on Queensland’s $92 billion debt. The selfish pricks should realize that there are no free dinners. Someone always has to pay and it should be the individual, not the poor folk or the subsidized taxpayer. 2. The Earthian Greens Renewable Energy Program and Carbon Tax are already going to cost us dearly and are a part of the increasing utility bill. As ever is the case, any plan from these guys doesn’t have a “Law of unintended consequences” factored in – It is uncontrolled, millions doled out to Earthian Green church members without any guarantee of results other that ‘I feel good” Newman is obliged to try and balance the books and with the state debt sitting at $80b and rising something has to be done. All the ALP/Green plans never take costs into calculations – it is all just money to Giai – she deserves it more than us humans. But hey, Hippy, the rent always falls due. He is not actually cancelling Feed in Tariffs. If you have a current system, or have lodged your application by July 9 then you get .44c. It’s just new installations that will receive tariffs that don’t cost the poor folk or the state budget money. I have contracted to have solar put on my roof, not because I feel a need to save the planet, but simply because all the ALP/Green Earthian wacky plans are raising the cost of services for no benefit. I don’t want some poor bastard to subsidise my power bills and I don’t want it lumbered on an already financially troubled state.

Henbury Station

Nothing on TV Monday night. No good movies or reruns of ALP grief so I ended up watching Lifeline. Bad move. They had a piece on Carbon farming and I’m so incensed with the insanity of it all I am writing this at 1:00 in the morning. The Landline clip on Henbury is here RM WIlliams Holdings have somehow decided it would be a good idea to use the governments offer of fronting up with nearly 2/3rds of the purchase price of Henbury Station, near the Alice. The government come up with $9m and RJM, $4m. They then de-stock the station and spend money on looking after the saltbush, waterways and fairey covens (any Greenie will tell you where they are). Coupled with the resultant downturn in cattle produced methane, somehow or other RJM Williams are going to earn up to $25m after they find someone to pay them for something or other, otherwise being touted as carbon credits. This mystery company, who most probably brought the Sydney Harbour bridge the week before, could use that as collateral to splash out on Carbon fantasies. Is this f*****g insane or what? Money earned is to be used in managing the local vegetation. The local vegetation has been a feature of the area long before the Greens insanity invaded the country and no amount of hugging or talking to the tress will improve it. With the removal of the cattle the land will return to what it was like before – marginal for anything other than cattle fattening. According to the Federal government the early estimates is that there could be up to a million tonnes of carbon or more on the property. Who assesses the ‘million tonnes’ If someone is going to pay $25 per tonne, as another report suggests, then just how is this quantified? “By establishing the science and the economic model for generating income from carbon farming, Henbury will offer a new potential income stream for pastoralists who wish to diversify. “A key requirement of the funding deed is an in-perpetuity conservation covenant for the property. “If the property were to be sold, the new owner would need to manage it for conservation under the same conservation covenant.
That is – permanently locked away, at least until a conservative government arrives and reverse the insanity. With young Ludwig ruining the cattle export industry and Communist/Green Senator Rhiannon calling for the total ban on cattle and animal libers running around filming cattle slaughter to impact on those less worldly people who never ponder the source of the eye fillet, one could easily make a case of there being a concerted plan to stop us eating meat. Like all Green vegan radicals, they are not happy just not to eat meat – they have to stop us all enjoying a steak According to Opposition spokesperson for agriculture John Cobb says the figures are a PR stunt to sell the idea of carbon farming.
“To try and pacify agriculture, they pulled $9 million from somewhere, heavens knows where, to help a very large company buy a station to be locked up and actually do nothing,” he said. “It is a front about trying to convince agriculture that carbon farming is good for them. It is a joke.”

…here’s quote in The Australian from CSIRO ‘site leader’ Ashley Sparrow, regarding ‘revegetating’ Henbury and turning it into a ‘carbon sink’: “…. the rejuvenation would be “a slow process, since most recovery relies on big rainfall events. I would expect in a while, and after some good rains, you’d see fields full of daisies in winter and high grass in the summer”. I think Ashley needs to go and read some of the dairies written by explorers, the first white people to travel through inland Australia. All the photos I’ve seen of Henbury show it looking right now as good as it probably has for a couple of centuries – well before whities arrived in this area with cows.
I’d love to see the business plan – if there actually is one I think it would start with “look for easy money from stupid government to purchase land and when said government is kicked out, which is definitely on the cards, then we will own another cattle property. Nothing else makes sense. All this angst from the Greens. Lead by a man who blamed the 2011 Queensland floods on the coal mines and who, at a dinner celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Greens, addressed the crowd as Fellow Earthians and reiterated his stated desire of a world government;
So let us resolve that there should be established for the prevalence and happiness of humankind a representative assembly, a global parliament for the people of the Earth based on the principle of one person one vote one value
And they have the balance of power in the Senate of a first world country. Just how much damage can these people do in the remaining 18 odd months of this government. .
