Hurry up and take this thing!

labsnakeHE’S never had a nose for trouble before but black labrador Bronson sure knows how to turn heads with his retrieving tricks.
The champion obedience dog stunned his Victorian owners when he recently returned to them to proudly show off his latest find. Locked firmly in his jaws and coiled around his snout was a long, live snake, believed to be a deadly copperhead.
He was bitten but that didn’t override his training. He never dropped the snake until his master said “Give” A couple of days on a drip and he’s back home. You just gotta love those Labs

  • Kev, are you pining for the Fijords? A new puppy perhaps?

I know someone out my way with some adorable stumpy cross (kelpie?) pups for sale… wants good homes. All males. Some with tails (the cross).

I thought I was going to lose Bundy last night. It was so hot. He wouldn’t eat, and he didn’t come to me when I put his food down. I guess he didn’t recognise me in a long dress instead of the usual shorts or work pants, and it was so hot, he was flat out panting, let alone eating. He needs clipping, but it was so wet over Christmas and the new year he couldn’t be done. He looks a bit like a rasta dog. I’m waiting for the clipper to call so I can have him clipped, I know he’ll be a lot better without the fur – and much more comfy, even if his time isn’t that long with me. And he needs to be clipped now, or his fur will not grow back enough for winter.

  • No, I’ve got two Labs at home that keep me honest. A black Lab, (looks like the one in the post) and a goldie I’m baby sitting for my daughter. It is terribly hot for them at the moment but I still took them down to the dog park and made them chase stupid balls for half an hour. They’re sleeping/snoring now and just recovered after an hour so do get yours clipped.

Taking my coffee and drinking it in the pool – much better than the air conditioner in the house.

  • My bloody tabby cat has presented us with three Brown Snakes INSIDE the house so far this summer.

The largest, around 3 feet long, was discovered by my youngest daughter wriggling about in the bathroom with the cat holding its head down under a paw.

Needless to say the cat door has been jammed shut and the cat placed on CB.

  • …cat placed on CB
Bet you had trouble with the mandatory 30 minutes of close order drill.

  • Hi Kev
Bundy’s gone. I took him to the vet at midday (when I could get an appointment).
She couldn’t get the needle in his vein, no blood pressure and he was dehydrated.
He would have been 16 on 11 April this year.
Now it’s just Me, Meg and Floyd.

    • Maybe we should have a beer soon for the friends we’ve lost and the ones we’ve yet to meet.

I hear Doggy Heaven has mobs of cats doing CB with field equipment and thus easy to catch so cheer up.

      • Thanks, Kev.

I do think it’s about time for a meeting of the interesting people we know and that drink to celebrate life sounds like a good idea.
A Friday night or Saturday suits me.
        Any ideas?
I’ll ferret around and find the emails, and put something up at my place…

PS I think they might have to have bionic eyes in Doggy Heaven, for Bundy!

  • “…30 minutes of close order drill.” And the field equipment and CES inspection…
