Aboriginals run amok

Fifty hurt in inner-Sydney riot. Riots smack of spontaneity, this event sounds very organized. redfern.jpg Pictured: Police Officers tend to an injured colleague as violence erupts in Redfern overnight.
Eight police officers remain in hospital after a total of 50 were injured trying to subdue a riot near Redfern railway station into the early hours of this morning. The bridge at the station resembled a military zone as at least 60 officers defended one side of Lawson St, facing about 50 angry local residents. Armed with bricks, rocks, broken bottles and molotov cocktails, the group threw missiles at police, passing trains, vehicles and businesses.
Molotov Cocktails!!!! That suggests someone had a supply line running. Fuel containers, rags cut to length and bottles. The bottles would have been easy – just empty the one you?re drinking from and use that, but fuel and rags for ignition smacks of a system.
“They had a number of wheelie bins lined up with paving stones in them – in fact there were eight of those. There were a number of large tubs with beer bottles in them,” he said.
There is a structure there, a hierarchy that needs pinning down and relocating to Long Bay or wherever bad guys go nowadays.
Police held a press conference yesterday to deny officers were pursuing Thomas at the time of the accident but posters began to appear around the suburb, calling them “murderers”.
Hmmm, posters as well. Artists or compilers on hand with computers, printers and photo-copiers.
At 2am when rioters threw fireworks and firebombs into police lines.
If the NSW Police don’t arrest the entire 50 aborigines and put them away then the public have a right to know why not. Note the location – Redfern in Sydney. Yes, this has happened in a suburb near you. I have no recollection of anything of this nature happening before in Australia. Riot – rubbish. It’s a campaign of civil disobedience and all the perpetrators need to be charged and put away. Update: Brogden, NSW Opposition leader says ‘bulldoze the suburb.’
“He said police should have been better equipped to deal with the rioters and bulldozing the area, notorious for drug dealing and crime, could help. The fact that 40 or 50 police were injured whilst they stood there and copped it from young Aboriginal thugs and others is an unacceptable position going forward,” Mr Brogden said. “I’d bring the bulldozers in because I think allowing this to happen every couple of years, which is what’s going to happen, will never fix the problem.”
Drastic, but hey – drastic times.

  • And some aboriginals call white Australians, “Racist”.

    Ha!

  • They should have utilised the powers granted to the ADF for Sydney Olympics, and sent 3 RAR’s bovver boys in for a snatch and grab on the leaders of this drunken rabble. If the coons think that the police response was harsh, try facing a company of grunts pissed at being dragged out of bed at midnight to stop drunken fuckwits destroying their suburb.
I guarantee the scoreline would have been the other way.

  • What a pleasant thought!

  • Nah, I reckon all you do is start holding an improptu training session for the RAEME Rugby Team. Right in the middle of their so-called riot.

Then tell the lads that the opposition is the team from Armour. You’ll have decapitated heads and limbs flying for as far as the eye can see.

Might stop them from thinking about pissing off the lads for a while.

  • Sadly this isn’t the first “riot” in the area. Here’s a bit more history http://austlii.law.uts.edu.au/au/other/media.OLD/1236.html

I agree that faced with this over-whelming force should have been used.

Unfortunately we all know that a sympathetic magistrate would have released everyone and had a shot at the Police for daring to interfere.

I go past Redfern twice a day and have noted the continuing deterioration in the buildings. There is supposed to be an Aboriginal Housing Co-op in charge but it looks like they’re just letting it rot.

What could have been a charming little street is an urban wasteland with destroyed buildings and vacant patches where others used to be.

It’s not enhanced by the sight of camp fires in some of the patches.

I suspect that anyone with drive or ability is already out of the Block.

I agree whole heartedly. I can never work out why we feel a need to set up ghettos. There is talk of drug house there yet no talk of ‘we have closed them down’ What gives?

  • A Police force cowed by PC considerations.

    Read this http://jafablog.typepad.com/man_of_lettuce/2004/02/redfern_rocks.html

The expectation is that these kids will be out on a mini-riot anyway.

Feed them the lies of the stolen generation and Marxist theory and this is the result.

What scares me is that it encourages a counter-reaction.

Al Qaeda thought they could cower the US via 9/11 instead they were bombed out of Afghanistan and Saddam was caught in the action.

How many police do you reckon are going to look more kindly on Kooris after this?

  • The little shits hate us already. Why bother changing their minds? I for one couldn’t give a rat’s ass about drunk and stoned Abo’s destroying themselves, but involve the rest of the wider community and then expect the police to give you leeway, then perhaps they should see what REAL power is all about.
Rounded up, identified, and then charged for their crimes, just as (hopefully) a white riot crowd could expect.
I don’t owe their community anything. If they wish to catch up with today, then forget asking us to apologise for yesterday. It wasn’t us, you can’t prove most of the lies anyway, so where’s your point?
In summary, a drunken group of “native” rioters and thugs has been allowed to get away with a number of crimes the wider community would be in jail for. It appears as if the NSW Police were either unwilling or unable to control this situation. This is unacceptable. What happens when the shit really hits the fan? Stand back and watch?
Swift, overpowering force should have been the reaction. This is not a bunch of kiddies in a playground. Rioters, with firebombs and heavy projectiles ATTACKING the law’s defenders. If it took 9 hours to control, I reckon that the majority of Holsworthy could have been on the ground there within 2 hours tops, fires out at 2.5 hours, rioters in jail by 3.
And a good day’s(nights) training would be had by all, seeing as how most of the place has operational experience now, and are unused to watching these things get so far out of hand.
