Dingo guilty!

Can’t see why. What is the evidence that a dingo did it? I can imagine NT coroner Elizabeth Morris finding the dingo guilty just to end the bloody case as we have been dealing with it for 32 years so far. There might be case to give the Chamberlains closure and peace of mind but guilty findings are supposed to be on hard evidence and beyond a reasonable doubt and I haven’t read any reports that can be taken as conclusive. Still, the good news is we shouldn’t have to read about it anymore.

  • I always liked Mr Squiggles for it, those beady little eyes, I know he done something.

  • “Can’t see why.”
Read the findings Kev – http://www.nt.gov.au/justice/courtsupp/coroner/findings/other/chamberlain_findings.pdf
The fact that any other conclusion, based on the evidence, was ever possible, is bizarre.
I have always been gobsmacked at how a group of narrow-minded NT coppers and prosecutors came to the conclusions they did. The tabloids that were reporting back then didn’t help of course. They resembled a pack of dingoes. The Chamberlains had two major problems –
    1. They weren’t “from around here”
    2. They belonged to a minority religious group
The same xenophobic mindset that drives much of the commentary about minorities (muslims for example) was alive and well back then, and persists.
It one of the more ugly aspects of the Australian psyche.

    • It’s a balance of probabilities finding. My point is there is no evidence, upon which we could convict a human, that the dingo did it. I can only state categorically that a dingo could have done it and I believe that’s all the Coroner can say.

We know that dingos attack small people although there is no precedence of one carrying away a baby that has been reported and I do question whether the animal could undress the baby as it appeared to have done based on the clothing found later without baby attached.

Still, I’m happy to blame the dingo just so we can stop talking about it

      • The balance of probabilities increased in favour of the dingo theory with the additional evidence of attacks by dingoes since the incident. Up to that point there were few reported incidents from which to draw a precedent and therefore belief in the story of the dingo taking the child was difficult to come by. No further evidence of human involvement has been forthcoming since the original hearings, hence the more recent finding.
1735099 in his usual style (or lack of it) attacks the coppers and prosecutors, who merely investigate and present to a Court matters that are beleved to be a prima facie case to be considered by the Court consisting of jurors and Judges…..Coppers investigate, lawyers prosecute and Courts make decisions. Collection of evidence is an evolving process. The media by speculation and selective editing sell papers and air time and in most matters do not allow the truth to get in the way of a good story. After all it is all about the dollar. They do have a lot to answer for. Religion also has a lot to answer for. Some religions have a violent radical side and 1735099 should remember that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link or a group, whether demonstrators, strikers or a religious group is only as peaceful as its most violent believers. The peaceful are a buffer between the radicals and those that have to deal with them.

    • Numbers you are a Fuckwit.

Why is it that the whining left always have to try to build themselves up by pretending that everyone else is racist? you lot return to it like a dog to its own vomit.

Lets see you back up your baseless accusation with some statistics on recent Australian hate crimes shall we?

      • “Numbers you are a Fuckwit”
        Wow – what an intellect!
“pretending that everyone else is racist?”
Since when has Islam or SDA for that matter, been a race?

        • numbers, there is no point to anyone wasting intellectual capital on rebutting your idiocy, you just lie, evade and try to move the goal posts. As I said, you are a fuckwit.
I note you have provided no data on Australian hate crimes to back your claims, how about giving that a go?

  • Brilliant, I was thinking about this subject during the day time……and your explanation is exactly what was going through my mind.
