Unions lose bid to stop $20m IR ad blitz

Federal Labor and the ACTU have lost an interim legal bid to have government advertisements promoting industrial relations reform taken off air. Bit rough, isn’t it..not being allowed to stop the other side put their point of view? How disappointing it must be that the government will be able to counter their emotive lies and exaggerations.

  • How dare the government be allowed to return fire. How dare they be allowed to hedge the bullshit proferred by Greg Combet and Sharron Borrow. What is this country coming to when people are entitled to counter lies.

  • Well, why not allow the government put forward an advertising blitz with tax payer dollars. I can’t think of a better way for my taxes to be spent, unless of course it were to improve public education, improve response capabilities to catastrophies, or pay off the national debt!

If the governments proposals were worth their salt, they would sell them selves and everyone would be standing in line to jump on board.

None of us I hope are naive enough to believe that the governement that brought us Agent Orange, or The Gulf War Syndrome would do anything with less than the very highest moral standards, unless it was to just plain lie.

No, they should not be pissing my tax money away advertising anything.

  • The proposals would sell themselves Bob except the union movement have jumped the gun with emotive lies. as always we have to counter that.

If your memory is as long as Agent Orange you should also recall how the ALP backed the communists. Agent Orange was a mistake and the government didn’t cover themselve with glory over the issue but the union movement sending money to the VC…come on. That’s a case of the party and the union movement organizing funds and support to kill Australians.
