Kennett on the danger of the Greens

JEFF Kennett has unleashed a withering attack on the Greens, warning the minority party should be preferenced out of existence to protect the nation’s economic and social fabric. The former Victorian premier said the Liberal Party nationally should preference the Greens and independents last, even if it risked elevating Labor candidates. Can’t disagree with him.

  • Maybe Jeff has forgotten about the DLP. They kept the Coalition in power for a very long time. I guess they were OK, because they were on the Conservative side of politics.
The irony, lost on the Conservatives, is that the only way they have been able to gain government since the second world war is by dint of Coalition – you know, the arrangement formed between the Greens and Labor.
The Nats and the Libs – now that’s a shotgun wedding if ever there was one.

    • “The Nats and the Libs – now that’s a shotgun wedding if ever there was one.”
And yet time and time again they are called upon to clean up after the idiots and children of the left have fucked up the economy and they do it. you’d think that even such a collection of drooling lackwits, whoring fuckwits, adulterers, hypocrites and morons as the Greens and ALP can bring to the table would at least keep organisational notes as to what happens when you spend, spend, spend – but no they never learn from their own history, so every few elections, we are doomed to repeat it.

  • At least the Greens have values and principles, on which they base their policies.
Labor and the Coalition are interested only in power, and will say anything, promise anything, do anything – to hold on to it.

    • Values and principles? = the BDS anti Jew plan, taking corporate funds and then doing favours for that company, promising to oppose the sale of Telstra, then trying to sell your vote on that issue, what happened to the Greens on boat people? they could have brought down the Govt if they had stood on their principles, but that would have cost them power.   the list goes on and on.
Only fools and children believe that the Greens are any better than any other party, the only difference is that they are incompetent and refuse to deal with reality.

    • There’s a story getting about that the GREENS are doing deals with Clive PALMER over preferences in an attempt to salvage political credibility (ha, ha).  Kissing the butt of their nemisis in coal mining to maintain the voice of Sarah H-Y.  Now we all know how high and mighty you claim to be, so would it be a safe bet that you will abstain at this election because now there is no one you can trust?

  • As for the “fucked up” economy , as you so elegantly put it – in two vital measures (unemployment and inflation) the economy is in better shape than it was when Rudd inherited it from “Howard” in 2007.

    • Please submit a research essay of 2000 words or less explaining how “the economy is in better shape than it was when Rudd inherited it from “Howard” in 2007”.  Do not ignore simple things like expenditure exceeding revenue and to what extent or the actual future losses to be incurred.  Please attempt to use a calculator as you don’t have enough fingers and toes to account for the figures required.

    • $300 Billion dollars in debt. Down from $23 Billion dollars in surplus and digging the hole deeper every single day, and with no credible plan to turn it around.
Only the truly ideologically cretinous think that is an economic success story.
But it takes colossally spectacular stupidity to think you can sell it to grown ups as a winning record.

  • Only the truly ideologically cretinous think that is an economic success story.
So I guess you’d include Dun and Bradstreet in that category.
What are your economic credentials by the way?

  • “So I guess you’d include Dun and Bradstreet in that category.”
I would, if they had said what you think they said, but of course they didn’t – you are simply too stupid to understand that it is a COMPARATIVE ranking, ie the rest of the world is MORE fucked than we are, but aside from being stupid, you are dishonest – you refuse to acknowledge that the reason we are COMPARATIVELY better off than the rest of the worlds economies today is because of that $23 billion that the ALP and Greens started with and have now long since pissed away, if you were even vaguely honest you would acknowledge that if we had started the ALP/Green run with our economy in as deep shit as say, the UK or the USA were at the time, we’d be, by now in way deeper shit than they are because of the insane spending levels of the ALP/Greens.
Its almost cute when you try to be smart numbers, but you just aren’t qualified to do it.

  • what you think they said
What they actually said – Australia is one of the safest trade and foreign investment destinations globally, ranking alongside Canada, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, according to an analysis of 131 countries on Dun & Bradstreet\’s Global Risk Indicator (GRI).
that it is a COMPARATIVE ranking
Australia compares pretty well doesn’t it? Comparisons are always odious when they show you up as a bullshit artist. They make you exasperated and you shout…
you would acknowledge that if we had started the ALP/Green run with our economy in as deep shit as say, the UK or the USA were at the time, we’d be, by now in way deeper shit
But we didn’t. I deal in reality – not make-believe. It’s a pity you don’t. On balance, I’d pay more attention to Dun and Bradstreet than Harry Buttle.

    • This is what I get for trying to educate a moron.
      One last try –
Lets just say that you have 3rd degree burns to 85% of your body, the fact that all of your neighbours have been cremated makes you, COMPARATIVELY better off, but it does not mean that you are not almost certainly going to die.
Our economy has been fucked by leftist morons, it does not help us in any way that most of the 1st world economies were fucked before ours was.
Your problem is (aside from the fact that you are painfully stupid) that you are treating a comparative ranking as if it were an absolute one, but then ignorance is all that you have going for you.

      • Our economy has been fucked by leftist morons, it does not help us in any way that most of the 1st world economies were fucked before ours was.
Interesting, isn’t it, that the American economy was stuffed by greed, incompetence and lax regulation.
These are not practices of those you call “leftist morons”.
They are however, favored by free marketeers, largely of the Right.

        • Again, it isn’t your fault that you are stupid, it is down to your parents genes.
Ninja loans. a gift from the left and the thing that smashed the US economy.
and again, having been hammered on the original subject and too dishonest to simply admit it and learn from your mistake, you now try to move the goalposts to another subject to avoid having to face your latest failure.
Numbers, dumb as shit and too stupid to even try to improve what passes for your education.
BTW Greed and incompetence are the hallmarks of the left, wheras draconian but ill advised over regulation is the way they swing.

  • Dear Dorothy,

I was going with an older man for some years.  We were happy and had saved over $20,000.  However, I was getting bored and in 2007 I decided I would be better off with a younger man.  He told me he would treat me well and would be as prudent as my partner.

I accepted his word and we decided to live together.  This upset my mother who said my new man was from a bad family, and that in the 70s she had been seriously mistreated by the father of my new boyfriend.

However, I decided my mother was exaggerating so I allowed him to move in.  Now, I want him gone because he is untrustworthy.  He quickly spent all the money saved from my previous relationship, and then went on to spend $300,000 on some very strange things.  He also removed the locks from the doors and windows and now perfect strangers turn up night and day demanding I take care of them.

I will never be able to repay the $300,000 and will have to pass this debt on to my children.  I don’t think this is fair.

There are some people who think I am better off than many other women and therefore, should not be worried.   I can’t see this.  If the financial situation of others is worse than mine, why does that make my indebtedness OK?

I’m also worried these people have not said how much more debt my partner can accumulate before it becomes serious.

I am on the verge of throwing him out but, he is pleading for another chance.  My mother says I would be a lunatic to take him back as he will never change, and will just keep spending money we do not have.   She also thinks he might be demented.

    What do you think?

    Sincerely,

    Concerned of Queensland

  • Dear concerned of queensland, no need to be concerned. I am in contact with a highly credentialled numerical expert from Toowoomba and after giving your situation considerable consideration he has the opinion that your fiscal position is excellent and that you should not only allow him to move back in but marry him to make it more difficult for him to be enticed away. Then you should immediately sign away responsibility for your budget decisions and guarantor any futureloans by your husband.  This may not be a wise move, but my contact will be very happy that he influenced your decision whatever the outcome.

  • Bob – thank you for taking an interest in my situation.

My mother thinks this Toowoomba fellow is the same one who is very friendly with 3 girls from interstate.  She is sure the girl from NSW refuses to answer questions about what she was up to in the USSR some years ago, while the one from Tasmania wants to spend more than my current  partner, and the South Australian looks and acts a little weird.

This makes mum think his judgement might be suspect.  If that is right I don’t think I should  take his advice.

    Sincerely,

    Concerned of Queensland

PS.  I wish I was back with my original boyfriend – I might be bored but at least I would not be broke.
