Fiddling with themes

I took the header photo at Yellow Waters, Kakadu, Northern Territory last year and I’m sure I will eventually work out how to get my name back up there (I hope). I plan to insert long term articles by myself and others in the third column after I give the photos the flick. UPDATE: I do listen to my readers. This setting should suit 800×600 viewers and those on ‘dial-up’. I will display photos through some other means.

  • Have you just recently changed over to Word Press Kev? How have you found it? I be very interested to hear and I know CL is in the market as well.

(I quite like the site design you put up today. The colours are easy on the eyes and I like the three column layout as well. It’s got my vote)

  • The header photo is nice, but you it needs to be trimmed a little (in KB) terms for poor slobs who only have dialup.

    Style vs substance.

I am sure you remember the staff college rules.

  • The header photo is 846 px. If you could knock it down to just below 800 it would suit those of us who still run a 800×600 resolution. Looks good…and I’d be interested to see how you find Flikr

  • Try putting <?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?> at the end of line 20 of header.php

  • It goes on the same line as your header pic link.

  • Kev, formatting when viewed in Firefox has gone to pot, but looks fine in IE 6. Cheers, Ian H

  • Ian,

So is there anything I can do to cover Firefox browsers as well?

  • Kev,

Probably ! However, a complete lack of technical ability sadly finds me bereft of any more detailed advice ! You will be viewed henceforth in IE6.

    Cheers !
